Artistic Eye Productions

Ben Hough grew up in South Carolina in a family of photojournalists, won photography awards in middle school, and worked as a shooter for his local newspaper while still in high school. After a fine arts degree he was asked to film a friend's wedding, and has been filming them since. He runs Artistic Eye Productions with Sharon Hough, who came to South Carolina by way of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Indiana and plays piano and flute.

The pair have filmed hundreds of weddings across more than fifteen years, and the approach is deliberately unobtrusive: document the day down to the small details, then bring the artistry in during the edit rather than by directing the room. Live streaming is available for guests who cannot travel.

Their portfolio maps most of the Lowcountry and reaches into the Midlands — the Ocean Course and River Course at Kiawah Island, Gadsden House, Hibernian Hall, St. Luke's Chapel, Merchant's Hall and the Cedar Room, Magnolia Plantation, the French Huguenot Church, Oakbrook Farms, and Trinity Cathedral with 701 Whaley in Columbia. Corporate, event, and documentary video fill the rest of the studio's calendar.
