The Cuthbert House Inn
Built in 1790 for the Cuthbert family and most recently renovated in 2024, the Cuthbert House stands on Bay Street facing the Beaufort River, in the middle of the town's historic district. Ten guest rooms make it small by resort standards and well matched to weddings where the guest list and the house are about the same size.
That is policy rather than coincidence. Weddings here require the wedding party or its guests to book every room for both the night before and the night of the event, and couples can go further and reserve the entire inn. The result is a private property for the weekend rather than a venue shared with unrelated travelers.
The house carries roughly 9,300 square feet of indoor space across five rooms and about 21,780 square feet outdoors, with a maximum standing capacity of 150. Catering is available on site and alcohol service is permitted, and the building is wheelchair accessible. Elopement and romance packages cover couples who want the setting without the full weekend.
