The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra
Saxophonist Jeremy Davis leads The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, a big band he relocated to Savannah, Georgia in 2005 and now co-fronts with vocalist and trombonist Clay Johnson. The orchestra plays Rat Pack-era standards, Motown, New Orleans second-line, jazz, gospel and Southern soul, and scales its lineup from a solo musician or instrumental quartet up to a full band with strings.
For weddings, the group offers ceremony music, an instrumental jazz quartet or quintet for cocktail hour, dance-floor sets for the reception, and a brass-band parade for send-offs or transitions between spaces. Couples in the Hilton Head area have booked the orchestra at Montage Palmetto Bluff, the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, Sea Pines Resort, the Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island, the Westin Hilton Head Island, and Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club.
The orchestra is based in Savannah rather than the Lowcountry itself, and travels regularly to Hilton Head, Bluffton and Palmetto Bluff along with the rest of the Southeast. No pricing is published on its site.
