About
La Bodega
Frederick Capers and Todd Toho started La Bodega on Hilton Head Island in 2011, after a friend asked the pair to play his birthday party. The band built its sound around Capers and Toho's shared love of Prince and old-school hip-hop, and it now plays funk, soul, reggae, blues and hip-hop for audiences across the island.
Couples book La Bodega as a full band for a reception-length set, or as the pared-down "La Bodega Lite" duo for a smaller ceremony or cocktail hour. The group has performed for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate parties and weddings, and its members work from crowd reaction rather than a fixed set list. They are winners of Savannah, Georgia's Last Band Standing competition and were a semifinalist in Cumulus Media's national Next2Rock contest.
La Bodega is based on Hilton Head Island and books directly through its own site rather than through a booking agency. The band does not publish pricing, so couples should contact Capers and Toho directly for a quote specific to their date and venue.
