House of Color

Lisa Middlebrook opened House of Color in Bluffton in 2005 after running two salons in New York, and the business has stayed at 14 Oak Forest Road ever since. What began as a full-service hair and spa salon narrowed over the years to focus on hair and bridal work, and the salon still publishes its bridal rate card openly rather than routing every quote through a consultation.

Bridal hair and makeup are each priced separately and by location: $125 per service in the salon, $150 per service on-site at a venue, home, or resort. Bridal party members pay $100 in-salon or $125 on-site per service, and flower girl hair is $50. A trial run is priced the same as the day-of service rather than discounted, so couples know the cost upfront. The stylist team handles cuts and color beyond bridal work, giving House of Color more staff depth than a solo artist.

The salon is based in Bluffton and lists Hilton Head and Beaufort as regular service areas on its own site. It keeps standard salon hours Monday through Friday and is closed for walk-ins on weekends, though it still books on-site bridal appointments on Saturdays for weddings. Cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice or the full service charge applies.
