August Floral & Event Design

Kim Cheney founded August Floral & Event Design after starting her career in Atlanta's event industry in 2006, where she worked as floral director for two Southeastern event companies, A Legendary Event and Bold American Events, and won first-place design awards from NACE, ISES, and Atlanta's Allie Awards. August's studio now operates from inside the Palmetto Bluff community in Bluffton, putting Cheney and her team close to the resort weddings and estate properties they design for.

Full-service clients work through a consultation, then get custom floral installations, ceremony and reception design, and event styling built around the couple's own preferences rather than a fixed package. August requires a 50% deposit to hold a date; its published cancellation policy lets that deposit roll toward another wedding within twelve months if a couple cancels with at least 30 days' notice, while cancellations inside 30 days forfeit the payment.

August publishes an event minimum of $16,000, one of the higher published floral minimums in the region, reflecting a focus on larger, full-installation weddings rather than smaller ceremony packages. The studio is based at 11 Buckhead Bay Road in Bluffton and works throughout the Lowcountry.
